Role Overview: AWS Cloud Native – Full-Stack Engineer (Senior Level)
As an AWS Cloud Native – Full-Stack Engineer at EY, you’ll design, implement, and maintain cloud-native applications that power enterprise transformation. You will work within EY’s Digital Engineering team—collaborating with global, multi-disciplinary squads to deliver next-generation solutions.
Mandatory Skills
- Programming Languages:
- Proficiency in Python and Java (for backend service development)
- Hands-on experience with Node.js (JavaScript runtime)
- Expertise in Angular (for frontend single-page applications)
- AWS Expertise:
- Design and deploy cloud services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, EKS, and DynamoDB
- Build data pipelines leveraging AWS Glue, Redshift, EMR, and related services
- Full-Stack Development:
- Ability to work across the stack—from user interfaces (Angular/React/TypeScript) to microservices (Java Spring Boot/Node.js)
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
- Container Services Management:
- Deploy and operate containerized workloads using Amazon ECS, EKS, and Fargate
- Additional Technical Acumen:
- Understanding of API design, digital security fundamentals, and microservices architecture
- Awareness of performance tuning, scalability best practices, and security hardening on AWS
Responsibilities at a Glance
- Application Development:
- Architect and develop cloud-native applications using Java Spring Boot, Node.js, Angular/React, and AWS services
- Collaborate with UX designers, architects, and backend engineers to deliver robust solutions
- Deployment & Automation:
- Implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, tests, and deploys
- Ensure zero-downtime deployments by leveraging blue-green or canary strategies on AWS
- Architecture Design & Collaboration:
- Partner with senior architects to define scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud reference architectures
- Review code and design patterns for reliability and maintainability
- Performance Tuning & Monitoring:
- Use AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and third-party APM tools to proactively monitor application health
- Implement performance optimizations to improve latency, throughput, and resource utilization
- Security & Compliance:
- Apply AWS IAM policies, encryption at rest/in transit, and secure coding best practices
- Support compliance with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Containerization & Microservices:
- Containerize applications using Docker, deploy on Amazon ECS/EKS, and manage service meshes (e.g., AWS App Mesh)
- Maintain Kubernetes clusters and ensure high availability, auto-scaling, and rolling updates
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
While meeting the mandatory skills is essential, the following qualifications will help you stand out during the EY walk-in interview:
- Certifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent
- Experience
- 3–4 years of previous experience in application engineering or cloud-native development roles
- Demonstrated track record of building production-ready services on AWS
- Agile Methodology
- Familiarity with Scrum/Kanban and DevOps practices—experience working in sprints, writing user stories, and delivering incremental value
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong troubleshooting ability across distributed systems
- Comfort with data modeling, NoSQL databases, and event-driven architectures
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Master’s degree or MBA (technology/IT specialization) is a plus
